Tuesday Writing Prompts
You are going pro with your writing skills! Today's your day to choose your own topics. After you finish a "post," edit with a partner and discuss what your next "post" will be about.
Here's a "quick" version of the writing process:
Below are some ideas for writing. Do as many as you want. Aim for quality, not quantity.
Step 1. Talk to a partner. A. Edit Monday's post if you need to. B. Decide what you want your first post to be about. Talk to your partner about your ideas.
POST POSSIBILITIES
Step 2: Edit with a partner. (Read it out loud.)

POST POSSIBILITIES
- Finish any unfinished writing from Mon, Day 2.
- Use your journal from class. Choose an entry or two and put it on the blog. (Make sure it is something you are comfortable sharing with your audience.)
- Write about a topic from class: developing relationships, understanding potential, communication, leadership, choices, goal setting, problem solving, team work, leadership, etc.
- Write about some activities you have done: Campus Tour, Kickball, Getting up at 6:00 to run, Bowling, and Using New Technology.
- Apply what you are learning: What are some ways that you can take what you have been learning back to your school and apply them?
Step 2: Edit with a partner. (Read it out loud.)
- Does it have a descriptive title?
- Do you only use your first name and not give personal information?
- Do all of your sentences begin with a capital letter and end with punctuation?
- Is your "I" capitalized? It doesn't want to be a small i. Don't hurt it's feelings.
- Is everything spelled correctly? (You can use the spell checker.)
- Can you or your partner think of any details or descriptive adjectives/adverbs that can make it more interesting?
- Are you happy with the formatting and design? (See the design hints.)
Group Site Home Page
Time permitting, discuss your group's home page. Think about the purpose of your site and how you will convey this purpose to your audience. Why should they want to continue exploring your site. Tell them. Show them. Challenge: Add buttons that link to your personal pages.
Happy writing and designing!
